In 1999, amid the dot-com boom, Chad Parks was a Certified Financial Planner in San Francisco who uncovered a complex challenge that small business owners faced: They didn’t have a retirement offering that would meet their unique needs. Knowing that he wanted to provide his clients the same retirement opportunities big businesses had, Chad got to work on developing a solution. Thus, Ubiquity Retirement + Savings came to life – originally known as The Online 401(k).
While the advent of the internet wasn’t meant to be the differentiator, how we charge our fees was: Flat, Transparent, and Fair. Within a short time, the business model was proven to be successful, and we expanded our frontier by engaging independent financial advisors and payroll companies who aligned with our want to disrupt the status quo of small business retirement savings and to provide equitable retirement opportunities to all.
25 years later, Ubiquity’s mission, values, and drive remain the same: to empower small businesses and their employees to create secure, bright financial futures and gain peace of mind by leveraging advanced technology with world-class support and human intelligence to create affordable and effective retirement solutions. Through this approach, Ubiquity continues to be the highest-rated and lowest-cost small business retirement plan provider.
